Ek Tha Gul Aur Ek Thi Bulbul telecasted on 1st November 2020 on Doordarshan. It is a royal drama based on the story of Gulfam and Nilofer. Gulfam is the prince of Gulistan and Nilofer is the princess of Baharistan. Queen Aaliya and her son Gulfam talk to King that their son wants to marry Nilofer. King says he is happy and sends the messenger and queen with all the gifts, presents, and dresses to Nilofer. King wants everyone to know that his son Gulfam is going to be married to a princess.
But Princess Nilofer runs away as she doesn’t want to get married. Nilofer’s parents are embarrassed, and they want their second daughter Doordana to be married to Gulfam. But Gulfam refuses to marry Sultana. In the royal court, a messenger informs the King of Gulistan that his son Gulfam has been captured and held captive by Queen Shahbana. Shahbana has captured Nilofer and made her into a bird using black magic. When Gulfam discovers the dark truth of Shahbana, then she captures everyone, including the King, the birth mother of Sultana, into prison.
Gulfam’s father becomes furious and orders his messenger Azam to prepare for war against Baharistan. When King arrives with his army in the territory of Baharishtan, Evil Wizard Doordana and her mother are standing on the ramparts of the fort. Wizard says to King that his son Gulfam will become the servant of Princess Doordana. The evil wizard asks the King to return. But he is reluctant. So, the Evil wizard spreads his dark magic and makes everyone change into a stone. Will Nilofer and Gulfam be able to meet each other? forms the storyline.
