It is a comedy family drama that shows the comic relationship between the daughter-in-law Emily and the mother-in-law Anandibaa. She tries hard to catch up with her mother-in-law by learning Indian and homely work. The serial shows the cute and funny fights between them, and it's fun to watch when their languages are different. It is the story of Emily, the western daughter-in-law of Anandibaa; she married her son Aarav. Anandibaa is a matriarch and social leader of Gondal. Anandibaa didn't accept this marriage earlier but soon accepted Emily as her daughter-in-law. Anandibaa searched for an Indian bride for her son, but her son got married to a foreigner.

Aarav has always dreamed of settling in America, whereas Emily loves India. They were connected by a mutual friend, fell in love, and married. So, the whole story is about Emily and how she will adjust to the family. Will she meld into the family or not? How will Aarav handle her foreign wife and traditional mother?
