He is known to mercilessly balance good and evil, making everyone realize the cycle of Karma. Lord Shani is the son of Chhaya and Suryadev. One day, Sandhya, the first wife of Suryadev, created her lookalike Chhaya to take care of her two children, Yam and Yami, because she could not bear the Sun’s heat.

However, she warned Chhaya not to get close to her husband. Chhaya was unable to follow her instructions, and as a result, dark-skinned Shani was born. When Sadhya knew about this, she hated both of them and always plotted against them with the help of Indra and Rahu. Since, Shanidev was born with karma powers, Brahma, Vishnu, and Shiva became his mentors to help him become the ultimate lord of justice. On his way to becoming karmfal daata, he made many enemies like Indra, Rahu, and Ravana. Eventually, his father realized Sandhya’s true colors and chased her out of Suryalok, making Chhaya his official wife. He also accepted dark-skinned Shani as his son. Chhaya gave birth to another child, Bhadra, who died due to Sandhya’s conspiracies.

After that, Sandhya commits suicide, and the blame goes to Shani. This incident made his mother hate him. Frustrated by everything, he gave up his Karmfal powers and went away. Later, after ten years, he married Dhamini due to some circumstances, but his duties created a rift between them. Dhamini cursed Shanidev not to recognize faces. However, he never tried to regain his powers to cope with the current situation. After some time, Dhamini convinces Chhaya about Shani’s innocence. Meanwhile, Ravana waged war against Suryalok to capture the nine planets.

Shanidev defeats him in a savage battle and retakes his powers. His wife’s curse dissipated, and everyone praised him. After that, he diligently continues his duties as the Karmfal Daata from Shanilok. This serial depicts the life story of Shani Dev and the hurdles overcome by him to become the Lord of Justice. Juhi Parmar played the role of Chhaya and Sandhya, Salil Ankola became Suryadev, and Tina Datta played the character of Dhaminidevi. Rohit Khurana played the title role of Shanidev, while Kartikey Malviya played the character of young Shani.
