Pooja Sharma is an Indian television actress, anchor and a model. She was born on July 12, 1989 in
New Delhi, India. She has moved to Mumbai, Maharashtra, India to pursue her acting career. Pooja came from a cultured family from Delhi. Her family was very supportive on her career and always appreciates her work. She has a strong passion for theatres and performing arts. While in college, she was chosen in Doordarshan India to do a talk show about sports. She first thought that she didn’t do well in the show, but someone said, she has a future in becoming an anchor. After being an anchor and does some auditions in Zoom, Indian’s entertainment television channel, Pooja was finally selected. Aside from anchoring, she also did TVC’s and ramp modeling. She did many ads and she was one of the Top 10 Finalists in 2006’ Femina Miss India.
She was debuted as a television actress in the anthology series, Teri Meri Love Stories broadcasted on Star Plus in 2012. She played the role of Sia Bhel in the Episode 12 of the show along with
Karan Kundra. Later, she got her fame for her character as Draupadi in the epic show, Mahabharat on Star Plus channel in 2013. She was a host at that time and because of her good voice and looks, Mahabharat’s casting director contacted Pooja and asked to do the audition. After three days of not attending the audition, the director obliged her to try auditioning. She gave it a try but she didn’t expect that she will be chosen. After 4-5 days, the Mahabharat production team called her and informed her that she was selected to do the role of Draupadi. She cried when she received that call and was very happy to know that she was selected.

Anupriya Kapoor was also contacted to do the role, but it was Pooja who got the opportunity. She was the last one to join the casting of Mahabharat. It had became her training ground, she was thought how to speak the language properly, how to cry and remember all the lines. The show became very successful and her character gave her recognitions and praised. It was also in the set of Mahabharat when her dupatta caught fire. Good thing her hair dresser saw the accident and quickly put the fire out.
Pooja likes to eat something cheesy and creamy after a whole day of hard work. She also likes to listen to Phir Le aaya Dil from the Bollywood film, Barfi.
