The story revolves around the lives of two individuals named Lokkhi and Phirki. The story begins by portraying a young transgender child being the victim of abuse by the local villagers. Being frowned upon by the society and being left all to fend for herself the villagers decide to kill the small babe but are stopped by a woman named Lokkhi. Lokkhi rescues the child and names her Phirki. She decides to bring her up as her own child and gets attached to Phirki. The task isn’t easy but she manages to fulfil Phirki’s needs and requirements and they are happy.

While growing up Phirki meets a young boy named Niladri who happens to be the son of Bhaskar, a rich business tycoon. When both them become friends instantly, Niladri decides to take her home to meet his family and introduce her as his new friend. Niladri’s mother takes a liking to Phirki almost instantly considering the fact that her firstborn was a transgender as well. Niladri’s sister Madhuja also befriends Phirki. The only people who remain hateful towards Phirki are Niladri’s aunts Ronjini and Roma, his grandmother Sunanda and his uncle Rudra who happens to be portrayed as a drug dealer. Phirki and Niladri develop a strong friendship which makes Niladri’s girlfriend Aliya jealous of Phirki. After a while Niladri moves out to pursue his higher studies in the foreign land. Meanwhile Aliya’s step-mother Sudipa gets to meet Phirki at Ronjini’s baby-shower ceremony. Sudipa had been portrayed as the biological mother of Phirki but Sudipa failed to recognize Phirki as her daughter.

Aliya’s father is shown to be a close friend of Bhaskar that is Niladri’s father. After 12 years, Niladri returns to India and meets Phirki who is now shown to be a successful lawyer with the help and guidance of her mother Lokkhi. However, drama ensues when Niladri’s marriage is arranged with Aliya but he finds his heart belonging to Phirki. Aliya gets overwhelmed with jealousy and makes a truce with the rest of the household who hate Phirki well enough to not accept her as a suitable match for Niladri. More drama ensues when Lokkhi gets caught up in criminal business without any real fault and the firstborn transgender daughter of Bhaskar turns up in the picture to save Lokkhhi and Phirki.

Phirki also gets to know about Sudipa, her real mother and the whole truth about why the things were the way they were and what other dark secrets were kept hidden in the family. Will Phirki and Niladri get through all of it together or will they be wrenched apart by the dark secrets and how certain families have reunited again when justice is served is what the rest of the episodes constitute.
