Swantham Suryaputhri is an Indian soap opera telecasted on Asianet. It was one of the most popular soap operas broadcasted on Asianet. The show is a sequel of Suryaputhri telecasted on the same channel in 2006. It became quite popular in every household and in 2007, the sequel Swantham Suryaputhri is launched. It aired 6 in the evening. It ran for more than 160 episodes. The program was a daily show broadcasted from Monday to Friday. It was produced by PMI entertainment India private ltd.

Starting the series Devyani the female protagonist gets into a heated conversation with her father over the way she lives and doesn't care about the appearance and the rituals. She doesn't believe in these rigid rituals and wants to live like a free bird. Devyani’s sister tells her that she has a problematic married life and Devyani tells her that she does not have to live with him if she doesn't want to, but her father wants them to sort out their problems and live together. Now Kalyani is confused about what to do.
