Mazhavil Azhakil Amma is a larger than life stage show telecast on the Manorama TV channel. It got telecast in two parts. The first part went on air on 27th April 2013 at 6:30 PM on Saturday. The second part went on air on 28th April 2013 at 6:30 PM on Sunday.
The show saw a grand production budget and had attendance from many renowned names from the film industry. The show was to mark the occasion of Indian cinema completing 100 years. The show was a production of the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA).
The show celebrated the various facets of Indian movies over the years and how it had developed. It saw various skits, dance performances dedicated to the stars through the decades. The show had numerous famous celebrities coming together to perform such as Dileep, Biju Menon, Mukesh, Nivin Pauly, Fahad Fasil, and Asif Ali amongst others.
The song and dance extravaganza mesmerized the audiences completely. The performance got organized at Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). It drew immense attention from the film and media fraternity. It got positive reviews from everyone alike.
The magnificent extravaganza is the direction of the acclaimed artist T.K. Rajeev Kumar. He is a very renowned director of multiple Malayalam films. He got honored with National Awards for his work. He has served as the leader for the Blue Birds musical band, of which he was also the founding member, in the year 1980.
He has also headed Super Mimics, which was a comic act performed in the year 1979. His accomplishments got started accruing from an early age. He was the winner of the Mono Act competitions organized by various organizations.
He continued to win across many years. He is also very closely connected to the Nadaswaram performers who go by the name of Ambalapuzha Brothers. His professional accomplishments include him acting in the capacity of Chairman as well as Vice-Chairman of multiple boards and committees.
He has also graced the jury panel of numerous award functions. These achievements span a course of several years. His talents go beyond the sphere of filmmaking alone. He has also trained in playing the Mridangam, a percussion instrument. In fact, he has also trained under the tutelage of the world famous percussionist from Trivandrum, Mavelikkara SR Raju.
His career in Malayalam filmmaking began at the young age of 19 years in the role of an Assistant Director.
