Mere Papa Hero Hiralal is a Hindi serial broadcast on the Discovery Jeet channel. This serial is about a beautiful father-daughter relationship. Hiralal Tiwari is an auto-rickshaw driver. He has a young daughter named Gungun. He gets arrested by a police-woman, Meena, as she suspects him of kidnapping Gungun. Gungun’s mother died in an accident some years back. Gungun is Hiralal’s adopted daughter. Hiralal and his wife had adopted Gungun when she was one year old. Meena is impressed seeing their bond and apologizes to him for mistaking him to be a kidnapper. Meena wants Hiralal to admit his daughter into St. Mary’s school. She promises to get his daughter admission and also gives him work to take his son to St. Marys School. He cooks food for his daughter, helps in her studies, plays with her, and also makes her sleep. Gungun gets admission into St. Marys School. Gungun prays in front of her mother’s picture before going to school every day. Meena tells her son, Sumit, to take care of Gungun’s every need in this new school. But along with the school’s fees many other expenses are needed. Hiralal thinks of getting a bigger vehicle so that he can carry more kids daily. He has a friend named Shankar to whom he lends money.

Gungun gets bullied at her new school, but Sumit helps here every time. He teaches her all the things about this new school. Gungun’s father comes to school to take her back home, along with Sumit. Gungun’s wishes keep on increasing, and she becomes best friends with Sumit. Gungun faints at school one day, but she hides this from everyone. People in Gungun’s neighborhood believe that Gungun killed her mother. Hiralal fought with the world to bring her up on his own. Gungun faints once again, and this time Hiralal takes her to a doctor. The doctor tells Hiralal to get some tests done for Gungun. The doctor tells Hiralal that Gungun is facing a major heart problem, and a heart transplant is necessary for which he must submit twenty lakh rupees. The time is very less, so Hiralal has to arrange for the money as they have to arrange the donor. Shankar arranges for the money, but Hiralal refuses to take them as the money was gained in gambling. Hiralal tries every method to raise money.
