Mere Dad Ki Dulhan is a TV serial aired on Sony entertainment television. The serial was produced by DJ's Creative Unit. It was directed by Anshuman Kishor Singh and Varun Badola. Till now the show has more than 130 episodes. The serial stars Varun Badola, Anjali Tahari, and Shweta Tiwari in the lead roles. The serial starts with Amber Sharma, played by Varun being a widower. He lives with his daughter Niya, who is studying and wants to go to the United States for future studies. Later, she gets a chance to go to the United States but worries about who is going to look after her father. She gets to know that a woman named Guneet, played by Shweta Tiwari, had to leave her home due to some reason. Niya tries to convince his father to find Guneet a place to live in their home. He agrees to keep her at his home. Niya thinks that now she has someone who is going to look after her father. She goes to the United States happily.

While Niya is in the US, Amber had an accident that causes Niya to return from the US to look after him. When she comes to India, she realizes that his father needs a companion who can look after him and with whom he can spend his life. She makes his account on a dating app. Guneet is also on the dating app. At first, when he gets to know that his daughter has made an account on a dating app, he lashes out on her. Later, she asks her father to trust her and give online dating a chance. He says yes and starts looking for a mate on the app. Accidently he matches with Guneet on the app. They both do not put their picture as the profile picture, so they don't know that they are chatting with the person they don't like in person. They started chatting with each other and like each other’s company online. They are still fighting face to face for various reasons and misunderstandings.

While they are chatting, Guneet meets with a Dr. and he starts falling for her. When Guneet agrees to marry, Dr. Amber feels bad, he deleted his dating profile and stopped chatting with Guneet. Later he realizes that he loves Guneet so he tries to stop their engagement. While doing that, he hurts someone, and a case is filed against him. Now it is interesting to see if he confesses his love and if they both get married or not.
