A Hindi television soap, aired on Sony Entertainment Television India, ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’ was premiered on 3rd October, 2011. It eventually went off air on March 28, 2013.
Loosely based on the Pakistani television drama, ‘Dhoop Kinare’ ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’ explored the complications of romantic relationships when developed between the two people with a huge age difference. Dr. Nidhi Verma and Dr. Ashutosh Verma do not only share an age difference of 18 years but also have different outlooks towards life and have differing personalities. They work at the Kotnis Hospital in Lucknow and the show runs around their work as well as their private lives.
Kritika Kamra- Gaining popularity for her role in ‘Kitni Mohabbat Hai’, Kritika attracted the audience attention all the more with KTLK as Dr. Nidhi Verma. She started her career in the television industry in the year 2007 with a role in the show ‘Jersey No. 10’. She currently hosts a show on MTV called Webbed Season 2.
Mohnish Bahl- A renowned actor in the Indian film and television industry, Mohnish Bahl has worked in over 75 films and 10 television shows. He started off in KTLK as Dr. Asutosh Verma but was replaced by Sharad Kelkar.
Karan Wahi- Making his debut with the hit teenage show ‘Remix’ Karan Wahi made his mark in both anchoring and acting for Indian television shows. He played the character of Rohan, a parallel lead.
Rukhsar Rehman- Playing the character of the female antagonist, Dr. Mallika, Rukhsar also got audience appreciation. She started her career at the tender age of 19 and has worked under big banners such as that of Ram Gopal Verma and against actors like Rishi Kapoor.
An immensely popular show, ‘Kuch Toh Log Kahenge’ was a favorite since love amidst age differences was not such a common story on television at that point. However, the show got a major setback when Mohnish Bahl was replaced by Sharad Kelkar. Though this was steadily accepted by the audience, a constant change in the story and lack of high points, lead to dropping TRPs and eventually the show ended. The other reason for the show ending was Kritika Karma, the one who played the female lead, wanting to take a leave. In her interviews, Kritika confessed saying she had been working for far too long without any break and was getting tired. However, the immense popularity of the show lead to the audience demand for a season 2. There were posts on social networking sites seeking the comeback of the two doctors and their love. Nothing has been confirmed by the production house as of yet.
