Plot

The film is about Gautham (Syed Sohel Ryan) and Mahi (Roopa Koduvayur). Gautham is a well-known tattoo artist who does not like kids. He lost his parents during his childhood. Mahi has been in love with Gautam since college days, but Gautham never reciprocates her love. After repeated proposals by Mahi, he accepts her love. He is ready to marry Mahi only on the condition that they will not have kids.

Mahi loves babies, but she agrees to this condition. They get married happily. But soon, things take a turn when Mahi becomes pregnant a few months after their marriage. Gowtham decides to carry the baby himself by having a uterus surgery. He will get the fetus changed and bear the infant himself.

Will he really become Mr. Pregnant?

Star Performance

Bigg Boss Telugu fame Syed Sohel gave an outstanding performance. He alone runs the whole film. The way he cares for his wife is very appealing to the viewers. His dialogues and emotions are according to the situation. Sohel also makes the viewers emotional in some scenes.

Roopa Kodavayur looks gorgeous on screen. However, she could do better in emotional scenes. The way she left her family for her lover is very relatable to the viewers. Suhasini Maniratnam, who played the doctor’s role, gave a fantastic performance. Her expressions are superb. Brahmaji entertains the viewers through his comedy.

Analysis

The film’s story is very unique in the Telugu film industry. The director has selected such a unique and interesting story. The film highlights the importance of mothers and the suffering every woman has to experience during pregnancy. It beautifully shows the care that a man shows towards his wife.

The first half is all about the love between Gautham and Mahi. The second half contains the real climax. Brahmaji’s comedy also makes the film entertaining here. The scene in which Sohel becomes pregnant and the entry of Suhasini is attractive.

However, the emotional elements do not work well. Some viewers may not like the concept. The ending of the film is also predictable. The first half hour is not understandable. Actors like Raja Ravindra, Ali, and Avinash do not play any significant role.

Mr. Pregnant is a highly suggested film. The first half could be better to improve the overall experience. The first thirty minutes are not interesting, and if you are okay with it, you should definitely try this film.
