Vanmurai Paguthi is scripted and directed by Nagaraj. The film has the star cast of Manikandan, Manogara, Rafia Jaffer, Dindigul Dhanam, Jai Mari and Raja. T Mahesh is the cinematographer and Ananda Linga Kumar edited the film.

Muniasamy is a short-tempered guy, who couldn’t earn a good name in his place, due to his nature. His mother Chinnathai forces Muniasamy to get married, but he didn’t get the right girl. Later, Chinnathai finds a girl for her son. When she questions the girl if she knows about Muniasamy, the problem peeps in again. The marriage was stopped. Muniasamy, who started loving her, wants to marry her. But, her brothers hurdle the marriage. What happens next? Did Muniasamy succeed in marrying the girl? What does he pay for his short temper? Watch the film in theaters!

Star Performance

Manikandan had done his job well. All the others had done as per the director’s suggestion.

Vanmurai Paguthi is not a new genre to the Tamil film industry. But, it deals decently with the suspense elements. The violence is a bit extra and the director should have minimized it. The artists are without makeup and hence we could see some real-life village characters moving around. The cinematography is decent and the editing too. The production values are okayish for the budget.

What’s There?

  • Manikandan had played well as Muniasamy
  • Suspense element is neatly handled

What’s Not There?

  • Violence should have been minimized
  • The characters are not designed well except the lead role

If the screenplay is a bit improved and the characters are defined well, the film would have reached a wide range of audiences. However, it is a good effort from Naga.
