Plot
There are four different stories interlinked. Manickam, who finds some changes within him decides to go for a sex change. But, his family couldn’t accept it. He convinces his wife and son and undergoes the sex change operation and changes his name to Shilpa. Leela’s son needs some medical treatment, which she couldn’t afford easily. Mugil and Vaembu are also facing challenges in their life.
Star Performance
Transgender roles are not new to Tamil cinema. But, when this guy does any role, then it becomes something special. Yes, we have seen Vijay Sethupathi doing varieties of roles with a lot of dedication and the same goes here too. He had done complete justice to the role. Complete means Complete… What a performance! Excellent Vijay! You deserve an award for your natural performance that reflects the mentality of the affected gender. Fahadh… he is extraordinary with his performance. Sam’s role looks simple, yet she did it perfectly and it carries some weight, towards the climax. After “Baahubali,” Ramya has got a perfect performance-oriented role in this film. All these stars deserve awards for their exemplary performances and they receive instant appreciation in the theater itself.
Analysis
The Aaranya Kaandam director has once again come with a performance-oriented script and proved his worth yet again. Thanks to the screenplay writers too. Beautifully designed script and screenplay take us along with it throughout. The casting team needs a standing ovation, first. How did they pick all these stars? What a beautiful selection! Whether it is Sam or Fahadh or Ramya or Mysskin, they had perfectly matched the roles and the stars. Vijay Sethupathi is always unique and his character is very well designed. Although some of the characters seem to be simple, we will understand their importance towards the climax. The music and the cinematography are excellent too.
