Plot

Mookaiah is the most respectable person in their village. He is a do-gooder of the village. Mookaiah has three children. The youngest is Muthuramalingam, who excels in Silambam. Mookaiah is proficient in Silambam and has been training the martial art to few students at his home. When they are about to participate in a competition, some gundas are hurdling them. After a mess, some people get injured. When cops ask Mookaiah to surrender, he denies doing so. In the scuffle, Mookaiah is being insulted and the angry Muthuramalingam cut off the cop’s hand. Later, Ashok Pandian is appointed to deal with the case. Did he solve the case? Will Ashok get the same punishment from Muthu?Watch the film in theaters.

Star Performance

Gautham Karthik has tried his best. However, his body language didn’t suit for the role. Napoleon and Viji have done justice to their roles. Vivek, Rekha, FEFSI Vijayan… Why are they brought into this film? These talented artists have no work in the film.

Analysis

Rajadurai, the director, should have kept some impressive sequences instead of grinding the same thing that has been done for decades in the village subject. Father and son scenes seem to be the repetition of some old flicks.

What’s There?

  • The chemistry of Gautham Karthik and Priya Anand
  • Napoleon’s majestic look and Silambam style

What’s Not There?

  • Stereotyped story and screenplay
  • Gautham didn’t suit for the role
  • Vivek’s talents are wasted
  • Flashback stories just test the patience

Verdict

Muthuramalingam is not an exciting story, as they projected. This is yet another normal village entertainer with stereotyped father and son sentiment. If you don’t have any other film choice, this week, you could give a try!
