Plot
Karnan is a village youngster who fears for nothing. His village Podiyankulam didn’t even have a bus stop and the government is neglecting it. Even the people living in nearby villages don’t contact Podiyankulam due to some communal issues. How Karnan fights for his village's rights and solves all the issues form the rest of the story.
Star Performance
We all know, Dhanush is a natural performer and this movie also comes with his exemplary performance. He impresses the audience with his perfect performance. Lal, Rajisha and Lakshmipriyaa made no mistake and got a distinction for their performances.
Analysis
Mari Selvaraj has once again proved his versatility in storytelling. Right from the beginning, he moves the story at the right pace. All the characters are perfectly designed and the stars fit well in the given roles. Dhanush’s action sequences are neatly choreographed and they are natural too. There are a lot of subplots. Although they are properly explained, they should have been minimized. The dialogues are good and the stars delivered it right and this shows Mari has the capacity to get the work done properly from the artists. As a writer, he receives applause from the audience. Although Karnan has some references from Thalapathy, his character is unique, projects Mari Selvaraj. He brings into the light how the caste is used as a shield. One of the biggest pluses of the film is its songs and the BGM. Santhosh had done a great job. The natural sounds in the background are impressive. Similarly, the cinematography is brilliant. The aerial shots are impressive and one would open their eyes widely and exclaim how they missed a village like this.
