A young farmer, who was waiting for a loan to continue farming, gets a loan from a moneylender. While getting the money, he gets a baby camel too. The farmer and his family care the camel well along with their other livestock. After a year, the camel suffers some health issues. When he takes it to a doctor, the doctor advises him to leave it in the desert, which is the right dwelling place for the camel. Although he feels hard to leave the camel, he decides to leave it in the desert, as it is good for the animal. On his way to Rajasthan, the farmer suffers a lot. Who all tortured him and how did he come out of it forms the rest of the plot.
Vikranth has given out a career-best performance. His body language and his expressions are fantastic. Vasundhara fits in the role well as a homemaker. The rest of the cast including Dinesh Prabhakar and the kid Shrutika did their job well.
The film is a different attempt by Jagadeesan Subu. The screenplay is neat. The casting team has done a good job. All the stars fit in the job well and performed perfectly. This is one of the best performances of Vikranth. The cinematography by Jagadeesan is brilliant. Editing is good. BGM by Imman is fantastic. The film is technically good with decent production values. Although it has a few cinematic scenes, the film deserves appreciation.
What’s Not There?
With the good script, screenplay and the excellent performance of the stars, Bakrid is watchable once!
