Plot
Arun and Teena are a young couple, during one of their night walk Teena gets kidnapped by some thugs. The couple faces a tough time. Arun tries hard to find her. The remainder of the story deals with this storyline.
Star performance
Alencier Ley Lopez adds genuineness to the character. His body language and performance were apt to his character. Jins Bhasker was good in his assigned role. Anand Manmadhan’s was entertaining with his comedian character. Rajagopalan who played the role of Salim was a smart choice. Rahul Nair’s role as Bennoy was satisfying. Dheeraj Denny handled his role well. The role of Reshma paired opposite to Jins seems like a promising talent.
Analysis
The movie Y is an impressive attempt by Sunil Ibrahim. The story was predictable, there is nothing that we can say as a never seen before thing. The movie starts with a promising thriller and it is a little bit disappointing in mid of the movie. The cinematography is done excellently. Editing is done creatively. The background scores were perfect and amazing for the scenes. There are many new faces in this movie. This movie is a thriller narrated in a realistic way. We tend to ask some practical questions like why aren’t the police doing anything, Sunil Ibrahim uses one character to question the same. Sunil Ibrahim does not complicate the storyline. The plot questions today’s unempathetic world. People do not care to go for a case and other social issues. Sunil Ibrahim tries to pull out the issue of police carelessness through this movie.

Y is a Malayalam thriller movie. It gives the least commercial promises. Even though the story is predictable, viewers can watch this movie for entertainment. It is a family entertainer.
