Analysis
Thundu is a movie made with the hopes of being a commercial success, and as it focuses primarily on that part, the movie lacks the general cinematic quality that a good movie is composed of. The plot in particular is very messy. The thing about the storyline in Thundu is that it employs a multitude of various subplots in order to make for an engaging, hilarious watch- a quality which the film, ironically, lacks. The subplots are mashed up together in a very frustrating way, and the inclusion of these sub-plots can even be deemed unnecessary. Biju Menon was somehow the saving grace of the film, as his dialogue delivery and expressions manage to elicit a few laughs then and now, and make you stick around to watch the film in it’s entirety, even if it is half-hearted. The lack of a cohesive, meaningful storyline, coupled with a message that is more likely to have a negative effect on viewers than spread awareness makes for a sub-par cinematic experience.
What’s There?

Verdict
In all honesty, Thundu is a very average movie. Confusing and wacky, it's sloppy screenplay only adds to the negative aspects of the film. The cast is lethargic in their performances with the exception of Biju Menon, whose delivery is the only commendable thing about this film. Some moments in Thundu are laugh-inducing, but these are very fleeting moments, and do not justify watching the film in all of it's entirety.
