Plot
Tiripura Sundari lives in a house with a cot given to her by her estranged husband. She has a special bonding with that though he is not with her. Tiripura Sundari is also addressed as Akkamma. Madhumiya stays with Akkamma as a tenant to search for a job. Rukmangadan has taken loans from various people. Unable to settle his loan, he escapes to the city. He drives a taxi at night and sleeps in the taxi in the morning. As he faces some tough situations, he seeks a room for rent within his budget. Akkamma provides him with the room to stay in the morning, where Madhumiya stays at night. Do Madhumiya and Rukmangadan know each other? What happens when they meet? What is the role of the room and the cot in their lives? The rest of the film showcases it.
Star Performance
After a long, it is quite good to see Poornima on the big screen. She has done a good job as Tiripura Sundari, aka Akkamma. Her Tamil slang, body language, and expressions are fine. Hakkim did his best as Rukmangadan. His expressions are so natural. Priyamvada fits well in the role of Madhumiya. Her chemistry with Poornima is good.
Analysis
The script showcases the relationship between the people and the cot and room. The emotions are finely penned and executed well. The stars fit well in the role and gave lives to the characters penned by Raghunath Paleri. The visuals are pretty okay. The BGM is quite decent. The story may appeal simple to some and emotional to some, depending upon how they feel and watch. A simple plot with emotional content is shaped up well by the director and the actors.
