Plot
George Kutty, who had been running cable TV operating service, is now an movie theater owner. His love for the cinema pushed him to work hard and the result is astonishing. Although George Kutty’s connection regarding the Varun disappearing case seems to be over, a new IG, who is in charge of the case, started digging it. Saritha, a new neighbor, moves closely with Rani. Rani shares the Varun case and how people speak about it and how the police deal with it, but not about the murder they did. Rani doesn’t know that Saritha is a spy appointed to get details from Rani about Varun’s case. One fine day, the police find out the place where Varun was buried. Now, the police trap George Kutty and his family. What happens next forms the rest of the story.
Star Performance
Mohanlal and Meena are perfect as usual. Mohanlal creates Goosebumps in the emotional scenes. Murali Gopy impresses the audience with his mature performance.
Analysis
Although we know what the treatment will be after the police catch George Kutty, we are still made to sit straight and watch the film and that’s the power of the screenplay by Jeethu Joseph. The stars played it right and the director has grabbed the right materials from them. The emotional scenes are dealt with neatly and Mohanlal and Meena are perfect with it. Whenever their family sees a police vehicle crossing them, they get tensed, reflecting well in their faces. That proves their versatility. The cinematography, music and production values are neat and adequate.

Verdict
Drishyam 2 is a neat sequel to the super hit Drishyam. Although there are minor flaws in the film, the direction, screenplay and performances make us forget the minus points. Drishyam 2 – Watch worthy!
