Plot

Bobin and Betsy are siblings who are running a bakery in Ranni. Their bakery is named after their father, Saajan. Their uncle supports them at home and their bakery. While Bobin’s idea is to settle in some foreign country, Betsy wants to develop the bakery. Betsy is married but got separated from her husband. Both the siblings are just opposite in their characters and hence their ideologies lock horns. The rest of the story deals with their conflicts and their decision to settle in life.

Star Performance

Aju and Lena had done their part pretty well. They had always been natural with their performances and the same continues in Saajan Bakery Since 1962. The rest of the stars had done what is expected from them.

Analysis

The story is quite different and interesting too. Some characters are interestingly made and some characters need more details. The second half is better than the first half, which is a bit slow. While the first half is slow-paced, the climax portions seem to have ended in a hurry. The film is technically sound. BGM and cinematography are good.

What’s There?

  • Performances of the stars are natural
  • Story is different

What’s Not There?

  • The screenplay should have been better in the first half
  • The climax should have been shot better

Verdict

Saajan Bakery Since 1962 is a mixture of emotions and reveals how we see life from different perceptions. For the natural performances of the stars, the film could be watched once!
