Kaanoorayana is a story that tells a lot of things. It describes and emphasizes the subjects that are of great importance .
Kaanoorayana is set in a village Kaanoora, just like any other that we know of. People here are happy and content with what they have and what they earn but are suppressed by the mighty and wealthy. A representative from the rural development programs is sent to the village to help them and get rid off of people like the moneylenders and middlemen. This changes the atmosphere in the village. Will the villagers be able to accept the development?
The movie is a total entertainer. It has a satirical approach to the issues and difficulties faced by the common man. The film has its own way of tackling the issues at hand and has done a great job. Though there are a lot of topics handled only a few are effective. The story is well built up and the characters are very interesting, especially the female characters as they stand up for themselves and have a voice. A three-fourth portion of the movie is satirical and it makes the movie a delight to watch. The direction is pretty good, the screenplay is on point and the background score is also good. You do not feel like you’re watching a film talking about such serious topics.
Sonu Gowda is a delight on the silver screen. She is feisty and independent and stands for true women power. The other characters from the village are either type-casted, some of them are very well written and have a substantial contribution to the pace of the film.
What’s Not There?
Kaanoorayana is a must watch for all those who love satirical flicks. The movie is an entertainer even though teaching us the importance of development and awareness.
