Ranjan Palit

Ranjan Palit is an Indian cinematographer. He works for films made in various languages which include Bengali, Hindi as well as south Indian movies. He is an extremely talented and well experienced professional. For his work and contribution to cinema, he received three national awards. He conducts workshops and sessions and interacts with young technicians and students who aspire to form a career in filmmaking and creates short films and other projects with them.

He gets involved with the newbies in hands-on sessions and inpires them and teaches them his perspective of cinematography. He stepped into the world of films in the ’70s after which he enrolled in FTII. He recently returned all the three national awards that he received as a protest against the treatment of students in the Film and Television Institute of India. He actively participated and voiced his opinion while urging organizations to stand up for the rights of freedom and support him in his protest. Ranjan also directed a movie by the name Forever Young.
