). He was given the job of repairing a Ford engine, without having any knowledge about its historical significance. It was screened in the 2009 Asian Film festival held in Mumbai.
PLOT:
This is the story of Hashmat Ullah who is assigned a job of repairing a Ford engine, which has historical significance, as it was the car that carried the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi, to Triveni Sangam, for immersion. He gets entangled in a complicated situation after a bomb explodes in his town and faultless youths of his locality get arrested. This leads to a havoc, because his community leaders order a work protest against the false charges and he is stuck between two worlds. Does he go against his community to repair that Ford engine? Or did he abandon the engine for the sake of his community’s strike? This is a story about principles and values that one believes in, and what a common man does when those are put to the test.
