Think Romeo-Juliet and Heer-Ranjha. This movie is based on the tragic love story of Mirza and Sahiba. It is a Punjabi folklore where the lovers never meet, but because their love is so pure, they are reborn and given a chance to reunite.
Plot
Mirza and Sahiba die tragic deaths after their families don't accept their love. Mmirsa takes a step forward where the lovers are born in the modern era, and their stories unfold further. They face hurdles yet again and fight for their love. Will they unite or die fighting for their love?
Analysis
Historical romances are always a beneficial road to go down. Hemant Pradeep does an excellent job of directing the film. As a storyline, nothing could be more attractive than the undying love of the tragic lovers. The dialogues sometimes feel a little forced but otherwise, are quite gracefully delivered by the entire cast. The lead actors both make their debut with this film and despite their inexperience, they have done a pretty good job. The supporting cast of Kabir Bedi and Farida Jalal also do justice to their characters. The songs are very soulful and catchy. Although, the cinematography and the editing could have been better.
Star Performances
The entire cast, from the protagonists to the family members, portray their characters excellently. The director has done a commendable job and should get the credit.
