PLOT
The movie begins at the earlier end of the first series where Vijay was Don. Now movie starts with a twist, Don makes himself get caught by cops in Malaysia, to get Vardhan out of jail. This time, Don is not after money but currency printing plates. Vardhan has keys to a video footage to threaten a vice president of a bank & get access to a German bank’s security systems. Sameer Ali, the hacker, & Vardhan joins Don’s team to help him get into the bank building. Meanwhile, Roma is a busy cop, trying to trace Don again. Sameer easily hacks the bank building security. Don is always flirting with his rival & cop Roma, who comes to help him with his plan as he blackmails to cops. Don gets those currencies printing plates & vanishes. The movie ends with hallmark dialogue & indicated the coming of its next part, Don 3.

from the prequel. Shahrukh Khan played Don with all his comfort as well as brutality. Boman Irani’s talent is not utilized fully, but he is as always great in his character. Other than these characters everybody else is a just minimalist character.Â
ANALYSIS
This movie seems inspired by 1969 classic The Italian Job. Don continues to crack flashy, bad jokes with his glitzy hairdos. Roma’s character is colorless & predictable at times. Vardhan is not planning anything this time. The character of Sameer Ali as a hacker is new & boring. The plan to rob a bank & get currency printing plates is quite old, & inspired by many other Hollywood movies. The script, screenplay, dialogues are written in a way to make it cool &suitable for the personality of Don.Â
The movie shows the stereotyped life of a gangster with dashing cars, pretty girls & bigger than life image. There’s no adventure in robbery sequences. The romance between Roma & Don is not overdone. The movie showcases the complete characteristics of a Don, who is a thief, con & a villain but becomes a hero for the audience. The treatment & cinematography of the movie is awesome.
WHAT’S THERE?
Music composers Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy have done a brilliant job in this movie. Conventional car-chase sequences.Â
WHAT’S NOT THERE?
VERDICT
A stylish &technically sound movie by Farhan Akhtar. The script is quite traditional with cheesy dialogues. But, one of the big budget Indian action movie. Go for it.Â
