In 1971, during the India-Pakistan war, the Pakistan Air Force dropped bombs on the IAF airstrip in Bhuj. It made the Indian Air Force airstrip lose its value, and it turned inoperative. This would cause a huge loss, as the PAF might damage the nation further. So, the IAF wanted the Border Security Force to repair the airstrip within 72 hours, as they are running out of time. As there were no enough laborers available, the BSF was helpless. But, it was at that time, nearly 300 people from Madhapur in Bhuj decided to help the BSF in defending the nation. Most of the villagers involved in this operation are women. How Squadron leader Vijay Karnik led them properly in resetting the airstrip forms the rest of the story.

Star Performance

Ajay Devgan did his role perfectly. Although there are certain over heroics inserted, it looks good while watching. Sanjay Dutt, Sharad Kelkar, Sonakshi, Ammi Virk, and Navni Parihar Navni Parihar belongs to Indore. She was born on S >> Read More... Navni Parihar did their best.

When a real incident is told, the makers follow some cinematic liberties and make the film appealing. As this is a war film and when the real heroics make us get Goosebumps while hearing about it, we expect the film should also bring the same Goosebumps while watching. This is what they tried. But, Ajay Devgan and the team had been so liberal with certain scene creations that don’t match the original story. When some scenes are made realistically, some other are not. However, they have mentioned at the beginning that it is a cinematized version of the real story. The VFX is okayish. BGM and cinematography are fantastic.

What’s There?

  • Performance of the stars
  • The film is technically sound

What’s Not There?

  • Some scenes miss the logic

Whether it is over-dramatized or not, the film showcases patriotism to a greater extent. If we avoid certain illogical scenes and watch, Bhuj gives us a satisfactory watch!
