Navni Parihar belongs to Indore. She was born on September 23, 1964. she has noble antecedents and her mother is from royal Rana family of Nepal. She holds a Post graduate Degree in sociology and is married to Animesh.

Her entry into the world of acting is quite interesting. She never considered acting as a career for herself. Her husband was posted in Mumbai and they were invited to filmy get together by a friend, Rakesh Chowdhary. Rakesh offered her to act in the tele serial Mujrim hajir Ho with legendary actors like and Nutan in it. She agreed and her maiden appearance on TV screen was with such veterans. And then she realised that this was a medium of expression for her where she could work and fulfill her desire of expression. She continued working and did a number of movies like Papa Kahte hain, Shararat, Page 3, Corporate and many others.

She also acted in a number of TV serials like Bani Ishq Da Kalma, Pradhanmantri and 7 RCR. In the last two serials she played the role of late Indian Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi. Her performance in all the serials was highly appreciated by the audiences as well as critics. Pradhanmantri and 7RCR were serials on post independent Indian political developments and roles of various Prime mInisters in making of the country. Pradhanmantri was hosted by famous film director and producer Shekhar Kapoor.
