MORE CAST & CREW
3 Storeys is a new film whose direction is done by a debutant director Arjun Mukherjee featuring, Richa Chadha, Renuka Shahane, Sherman Joshi, Pulkit Samrat, and Masumeh Makhija. The film has touched few sensitive issues of life and has come out with many good messages for the audience.
This film attaches strings of three stories set in a chawl in Mumbai, where the three characters live on three different floors of the same chawl. The first segment is about a businessman looking for accommodation in Mumbai and meets with a lady Renuka Shahane, who lives alone and is looking for a buyer of her flat. She tries quoting her house for a sky-high price. The second segment deals with the story of a housewife who faces the brunt of her alcoholic husband and meets with an old flame of hers. She takes care of her ex-lover who is well performed by Sharman Joshi. The last segment of the film is about a young couple who is deeply in love and is trying to fight the odds of the society against them. Richa Chadha is also seen playing a cameo role in the film as a Sutrdadhar. What is the secret behind every story? To find out what it is, watch the film.
The dialogues and screenplay deserve an ‘A,’ but there were a lot of unnecessary scenes in the film. The role of Richa Chadha also seemed like a misfit with the story. The music and visual appeal were average and the teaser of the film also didn’t get a lot of response from the audience.
Masumeh Makhija wins hearts with her simplicity. This actress who was not previously announced has done her finest work in the film. Equally, praise-worthy is Tarun Anand, who played the role of the abusive husband that made the audience feel disgusted with his character showing that he has put his best foot forward in his role.
1. Direction and dialogues are good and empathetic.
2. Keeping in mind the efforts of the entire cast, Renuka’s performance outshined.
3. The movie tells us about the social issues.
What’s not there?
1. The different segments of the story were predictable.
2. The unexpected twists in the film defy the admirable job of the cast.
3 Storeys tell us about the different loopholes in the society and raise important issues in common people’s life. It links various elements of life together, and if you are up for a contemporary movie this weekend, then Arjun Mukherjee’s movie is the perfect pick.
