What If Click to look into! >> Read More... is a movie in which the sweetness of someone falling in love with a person for some reason isn’t available? This film is directed by Michael Dowse, starring Daniel Radcliffe Daniel Radcliffe is a popular English actor who ro >> Read More... (Wallace), and Zoe Kazan Zoe Kazan is an American playwright and actress. H >> Read More... (Chantry). What if is a little old-fashioned.

Plot:

It’s been more than a year now since the med-school dropout; aimless Wallace found out that his then-girlfriend was making out with a doctor. Three hundred and seventy-nine days of isolation, and crawling up on to his sister’s roof, pondering as to why and where it all went wrong. But now, he is finally ready to delete his ex-girlfriend’s last voicemail and maybe; move on. His first social outing was now, in more than a year in his best friend Allan’s party. While Wallace absent mindedly fidgets with the fridge magnets, he spontaneously gets into a conversation with someone new. Who is this someone new? This someone is named Chantry, who immediately thaws the ice in his heart. But this someone also has a boyfriend, a pretty serious one. When Wallace discovers it, he feels a little disheartened. Despite Chantry’s obvious interests in Wallace, she tells him that she wouldn't like to jeopardize her relationship with Ben. She, however, extends her hand for friendship, and Wallace not so enthusiastically accepts it. Chantry and Ben have very promising careers which are the envy of all their friends whereas Wallace and Chantry don’t have a promising career, but they can’t deny the spark between them. Will Chantry ever fall in love with a guy she has made best friends with is a question after all.

Analysis:

The film talks about the only sacred place of the god’s gift of sexuality are in its long-term commitments of marriage and staying together.

Star Performance:

The portrayals of young love, heartbreaks, and flings have been carried out very well by the cast. Daniel Radcliffe and Zoe Kazan have both given lovely performances to make the film look full of love and emotions.

What’s there?

1. The storyline is emotional and relatable.

2. The background score is appreciable.

3. The direction of the film is fine.

What’s not there?

1. One moment you feel you are connecting to the story and in another moment you feel you need to watch the film again to understand.

2. The characters should have been convincing with their roles.

Verdict:

All in all, ‘What if’ is a movie which not all could relate to but only a few could? It is a one-time watch.
