Jo gets inspired by his courage, and decides to help them throughout their venture. His grandfather and father support his actions. The village members also come forward to help. Jo teams up with Horcada and Benjamin to help the children escape. They become successful in moving all the children except one. She becomes such suddenly and Benjamin takes her back to the village. There they get caught by the Germans. It gets revealed that one friendly German officer knew about the children who have been kept hidden. He did not tell anyone about it.
