Djimon looks like an African native to give a bestial feel. Prospea captures the island with her dauntless attitude and frees the ambiguous spirit Ariel (Ben Whisaw). Prospero seeks her chance for revenge, and inculcates a tempest with the help of androgynous sprite and wreaks havoc on the ship.

Review: The movie tries to replicate the magic and further enhance it with intimidating performances from Helen and brilliant costume design and shooting locations. The compassion towards Miranda comes forth with greater influence with Prospera portrayed as a woman. She is usurped on account of using sorcery against his husband. She proves it in the end by causing the storm. The art direction is beautiful and the dialogues have been brushed up. The essence of the theater has not been able to transpire through scenes, and it gets annoying in sessions. There is not one scene that lightens you up with the gleam. There are not many compelling changes from the original. The villains do not come up with force, and other characters are just obscured.

Verdict: A stirring performance from Helen and visual displays may drag you to it but may not be enough to keep you stuck.
