The movie Huntsman: Winter’s War released in 2016. The movie is a sheer fantasy packed with action scenes. The movie draws inspiration from a fairy tale of German origin. The movie follows Snow White and the Huntsman, a much spoken-about movie. The movie created much eagerness among the fans since it explains what happened before the first movie’s story and the happenings which follow the first movie. The movie is all about two queens and two huntsmen who fall in love for each other. This may create eagerness among fans, and draw them to the theater to watch the movie.

Plot:

The events before and after the first movie unfold in a visually thrilling manner. Queen Ravenna and Queen Freya hold a blood relationship as sisters. But they turn against each other and part ways. The queens are vested with supreme abilities, and there is seething enmity between them. Freya is driven to the remote areas of the Arctic following a sheer betrayal of trust and love failure. Her quest is to pick children and turn them into lethal warriors who are also huntsmen. There is a twist in the story as Freya comes to know that her sister is dead. Or, is she really dead? There is yet another twist in the story as her reliable warriors develop a crush for each other. Freya least likes the development as she expects that there should be no soft feelings among warriors. Freya plots such that the lovers turn against each other. Whether or not the lovers reunite, and what has really happened to the other queen is the rest of the story.

Emily Blunt has done a good job, and beyond the spine-chilling appearance, there is something in the actress that is worth a watch. Chris Hemsworth A “heartthrob” and total madness of women from “do >> Read More... and Jessica Chastain Jessica Chastain aka Jessica Michelle Chastain is >> Read More... are lovers in the movie. Chris is appealing to female fans, but he sags a bit and is unable to project himself as a hero as is expected. The character done by Jessica fails to impress the audiences.

Analysis:

This is the debut film of director Cedric Nicholas TroyanThe characters in the movie could have been molded in a better manner. The story does not provide a gripping experience, and more life could have been added to the characters.

What is There:

The visual effects are a real treat to the fans. The three-dimensional effects bind the audiences to their seat.
There is a slight tinge of humor in the movie as we watch the dwarfs on the screen.

What is Not There:

The movie’s story is very predictable, and the characterization is a little weak.
If it were not for the visual effects, the movie could cause a big yawn among the audiences.
The relationship between the queens could have been explained more.

Verdict

Charlize Theron and the visual effects in the movie make it worth a watch and prevent the audience from falling asleep in their seats. Thumbs up for the gripping visuals.
