Taking a film that goes back to history is indeed a challenge. Has the Good Dinosaur lived up to the expectations? Read further to find out.
Plot
Parents Dinosaurs and their three children are having a complacent life by doing farming. Apatosaurus Arlo, the youngest of the three children, is an anxious creature. His father advises him to accomplish something big so that his anxiety is compensated. Then Arlo is asked to look after corn that is nurtured indoors. And our dear Arlo does this earnestly. But as fate would have it a flash flood separates Arlo (dinosaur) from his family. His father dies in the flood. Dangerous beasts try to prey on Arlo and his human buddy Spot (Jack Bright). A couple of havocs take place eventually. The rest of the story is how Arlo struggles to get back to his home.
What’s there?
1. The movie has breathtaking visuals, witty humor, and powerful messages. The jungles, mountains, and rivers are refreshingly natural, and one wonders whether they are really animation. But again, the animation of storms is so powerful that it might scare kids.
2. You can connect with the characters in the movie.
3. The pairing of Arlo and Spot is very good.
4. You wonder whether the animals are really cartoonish; they look very real in the movie.
5. Mega LeFauve’s script is simple, energetic and brimming with enthusiasm.
6. The voices given to the cast are spirited and engrossing.
7. The background score is a major asset to the film.
What’s not there?
1. The movie may not go well with the sensitive viewers.
2. There is too much of drama in the movie.
Analysis
This film, which is the child of Disney-Pixar is a commendable effort. It is set in the era wherein humans and dinosaurs co-existed. In that era, the humans did not acquire fluency in speech. So the speech of Spot (Jack Bright) is incoherent.

is packed with emotions. It goes back to history and can be considered as a toon movie. Certain lessons can be learned from the movie; Friendship, yearning for family and fear of survival are told in this story; How Arlo comes to term with the fact that fear is after all normal (but it should never be an obstacle to your living) is essayed in the film.
