Plot: April O’Neil(Megan Fox), a reporter tracks all the events about a criminal gang, namely the ‘foot clan.’ A Cerberus group attacks the thieves. April reports about this to her higher officials and no one cares about it. She covers a charity event and shares her obligation with the CEO Eric Sacks ( William Fichtner  A fascinating actor William Edward Fichtner is >> Read More... ). The foot clan leader Shredder (Tohoru Masamune) takes hostages, including April in a subway. Four cryptic figures rescued everyone. April went after them to a rooftop and found four huge turtles. She overhears few of their names to be Raphael and Leonardo and the request her on not to disclose this to anyone.
She gets reminded of her father’s project in which he involved four turtles namely Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, Raphael and a rat called Splinter. She tries to convince her supervisor Bernadette. But fails eventually. When she shared about this with Sacks, he shared his memories that he thought all those Mutagen got burned along with her father in that fire. But when she shares about this to the turtles, they said that Sacks was the one who betrayed her father and killed him. How the turtles and the leading lady takes revenge on Sacks and Shredder will be the story.
The movie rushes to move onto the next scenes. The turtles did not have much screen presence though they are the lead role. Megan does not have anything to do much after the introduction of the turtles. Shredder is strong in action sequences, but simply insipid in rest of the scenes. The CGI turtles look creepy rather than cute.
This movie may pre-occupy the minds of kids below 12, but bore the teens and people aged above.
Fox has done the job given to her perfectly. This movie would have come out a bit successfully if it had been completely in the genre of comedy. But director at times makes it touch the serious note, which does not reach well with the audience.
Verdict: Less fun than the original version but more developed than the animated version that was developed in 2007.
