One such different attempt which makes us to feel the impetus of love more and more. Clearly a successful attempt..!
Plot: Ben (
John Lithgow
) and George (
Alfred Molina
), are finally getting married after 39 years of love, which leads to the loss of George’s job. Their dreams for being together forever got shattered at once and they were forced to move out of their house since they cannot fulfill the financial requirements. Fate made them to stay separated until they find a good source of income. While Ben was pushed to stay with his nephew, Elliot and his family, George was forced to stay with their former neighbours. Elliot and his family were running their life under constant misunderstanding. George’s neighbours, Ted (Cheyenne Jackson) and Roberto (Manny Perez) were cops and also a same-sex pair, who were also party animals.
At times, both the hosts find their guests to be intruding in their personal space. Both George and Ben could not cope up with the separation at times. The rest of the movies says about how they felt uncomfortable with all sorts of pain and also whether they joined each other or not. This film was one good piece of work, which showcases all sorts of feel such as experience, like pain of separation, taste of love, etc,. The extreme details captured during the moments shared by the couple makes us to rewind and observe the interesting happenings in our own life.
The performance of all the actors was so natural and gave the feel of everything happening next door to us. John and Alfred’s performance were magnificent. Marisa as a mom to an adolescent kid, clearly shows her anxiety regarding her job and her responsibilities as a mom. Darren, as Elliot, is too much into business and never finds time to be with family. The little teen Joey, which was played by
Charlie Tahan
, who was not under control of his parents at first, slowly understands the reality and tries his best to get adapted to any sort of situation. His performance as the adolescent boy was brilliant.
Both Cheyenne and Manny have expressed a youthful vigour and played the role of annoying their host very easily.
Director Ira Sachs has perfectly captured the pulse of audience and made them to get combined with the story.
At times, it is different when we think that till one part of our life we consider about ourselves and for the rest of the life, we always think only about our better half, no matter how good/bad the situation is.
Verdict: Of course, Love is strange!
