Plot

 A 12-year-old boy named Jacob Rathbone has a fear of darkness. Due to his fear, his mother, Isabel, is always frustrated about it. He was bullied in school for bringing his late grandmother’s gloves. His stepfather, Davis saw him dancing while wearing his late grandma's dress. This results in his parents sending him to a boarding school. A couple of Dr. and Mrs. Sherman are governing this hoarding school. His classmates are twins Lenny Calvin, and disfigured burn survivor Phil, Tourette’s sufferer Frederic, autistic Elwood Ramsay, and manipulative Christine Holcomb. This boarding school is not what it looks like. There are some strange things are happening in this boarding school. Life there for these children will be hard. What will happen to Jacob? What is this peculiar boarding school? The rest of the story deals with it.

Star Performance 

Luke Prael, as Jacob Rathbone, did an incredible performance in the film. His journey of entering this strange boarding school and escaping from it is well executed. His detailing of the character was outstanding. His acting and dialogue delivery was perfect. One would admire his acting after watching this movie. He had much impact she made in the whole film. Sterling Jerins, as Christine Holcomb, did a fantastic performance in the movie. She shows the nature of a manipulative personality. Her acting was factual and natural. Will Patton, as Dr. Sherman, did a remarkable performance in the film. He was the perfect antagonist in the movie. All the other actors were as good as the main lead actors. 

Analysis

The film's storyline is great, thrilling, horrifying, and strange –the film focus on the central theme of psychological disorders. The film is weird and disturbing, but this is what maintains the horror in it. The horror nature of the movie is carried from the start till the end. The storyline in the film was interesting. The direction, cinematography, and script were perfect in the movie. The psychological horrifying elements are seen in the film. The film is slow-paced, making it boring in certain scenes. The sexually explicit of the adolescent will be a discomfort to some people. The spookiness of the film makes in more interesting. The theme and idea of the film was good, but lacks in the description. The background music and songs play a significant role in the movie. The dialogues were good.
