Kesari : Chapter 2 will be releasing in theatres by April 18. The movie is bankrolled by Dharma Productions, and is a spiritual sequel to the 2019 blockbuster Kesari, which was based on the Battle of Saragarhi fought in 1897.

Sankaran Nair had forced the government to constitute the Hunter’s Commission in the aftermath of the massacre, and despite losing a pre-determined court case, managed to expose the chief perpetrators behind the massacre, i.e. Michael O’Dwyer, the Lt. Governor of Punjab who gave his assent to the massacre, and Brigadier General Reginald Dyer, who executed the operation.
