Ramanathan, aged 74 had been honored with Kalaimamani by the Tamilnadu Government and he had also got the Kalaichelvam award from Nadigar Sangam. Due to some age-related illness, he passed away yesterday in Chennai. His cremation will be done today at 4: 30 pm. Ramanathan is survived with a wife, a daughter and a son. He had played in the films including Oru Pullanguzhal Aduppu Oothukiradhu, Sparisam, Valartha Kada, Mansoru, Kovil Yanai, Naam and Varam.
