Former Minister Senthil Balaji has submitted a petition to permit him to do a fasting protest in Karur. Senthil submitted it in DSP office, Karur. Senthil has been protesting to set up a new medical college in Kuppachipalayam. If his protest petition is accepted, he will start his fasting protest on 5^th May.

Paramakudi: Following the protest against the TASMAC shops, the staffs of the shop sold the liquors with the support of 2 DSPs and 3 Sub-Inspectors. It is to be noted that more than 50 police guard the shop from the public.
