King Raja Raja Chozha had a long and strong history for developing the Tamil culture, building temples and excellent administration skills. Kaala Karikalan director Pa Ranjith slammed Raja Raja Chozha and stated that he was the one who brought the Devadasi system and degraded the women. He also added that King Raja Raja Chozha is a scamper, who grabbed the lands from the community, which Ranjith belongs.
Ranjith’s comments about a great King, who ruled entire Asia, had created a buzz. Many Tamil scholars slammed Ranjith for speaking senselessly, without knowing the history. The Tamil scholars also stated that Ranjith is wrong and the King hadn’t grabbed the land from anyone. Instead, the King had donated a lot to the people.
