Mammootty Hails Malayalam Audience For Constant Support

Mammootty is grateful to the local audience.

In a recent ceremony for the Kerala State Film Awards, the actor opened up about the audience support for Malayalam films, which has inspired people like him and other creators to continue making quality cinema. Mammootty revealed this after receiving the Best Actor award for his powerful role in Bramayugam.  

According to the actor, Malayalam films may not appeal to every kind of audience, but the region never treats their films as mere entertainment.

Mammootty has been one of the pillars of Malayalam cinema. Although he had a rough year in 2025, the actor more than made up for it with Kalamkaval, where he starred in a rare negative role of a serial killer, loosely based on the notorious case of Cyanide Mohan. The movie also starred Vinayakan and Rajisha Vijayan in prominent roles.
