Jagadeesh Withdraws From AMMA President Race

Has Jagadeesh paved way for the first woman President of AMMA?

According to the recent reports, the Malayalam actor has withdrawn from the race of the President of Association of Malayalam Movie Artists, due to calls for a female head.

This leaves actress Swetha Menon as the only candidate left for the role, and virtually the winner for the same. This would be the first time a woman is heading the association.

The AMMA committee was dissolved last year, following the explosive reports provided by the Justice Hema Committee constituted by the Kerala High Court. Actors like Mukesh M, Siddique etc. were accused of sexual harassment, while  Mohanlal had to step down from the post of the President following multiple accusations.

Jagadeesh was last seen in Dheeran. He had made a strong comeback with his role as Tony Isaac in the action drama Marco last year.
