Kannada Cine Stars Join Farmer’s Protest

The Farmer’s agitation regarding the Kalasa-Banduri project, has taken a new turn. The Kannada superstars, condemned for their delayed participation in the agitation, have joined hands supporting the agitators with regard to the Kalasa-Banduri Nala Project. A huge rally was held in the vicinity of Kittur Chennamma Circle. It is to be noted that the agitation has been going on for 60 days. The Kannada Film Chamber went on a silence fast aggrieving the suicide of farmers.

Umashree, who is both an actor and Minister made announcement about concessions for the impoverished farmers. Many other noted cine icons, President of the KFCC, Thomas D’Souza, went on a procession till Moorusavir Math seeking God’s blessings on the issue. Scores of people participated in the procession. The Kannada stars spoke on gathering strength to the agitaton for better results. Also, they took on a pledge to solve the issue. Also, they protested against Goa objecting to the project on drinking water. They actors pledged to visit places as Naragund and Navalgund as part of the protest rally.
