Yami Gautam’s next venture has got a name, as well as a release date!
According to the recent reports, Yami Gautam’s next venture is titled Haq. The courtroom drama will be directed by actor turned filmmaker Suparn Verma, who is best known for directing series like The Family Man and Rana Naidu. The movie also stars Emraan Hashmi, Sheeba Chaddha, and Danish Husain in other important roles.
Haq is the same venture that is based on the controversial Shah Bano case of 1986, where Shah Bano sued her husband, Mohammad Ahmad Khan for alimony, and won the case, only for the Central government to overturn the same following immense pressure from Islamic radicals. The movie is jointly bankrolled by Junglee Pictures, Insomnia Films and Baweja Studios, and if everything goes right, it will release in cinemas by November 7.
Yami Gautam has been well known for choosing unconventional roles since a long time. Having struck gold with performances in URI : The Surgical Strike and Bala, Yami Gautam gave some of her career best performances in movies like A Thursday, Dasvi, Chor Nikal ke Bhaga, OMG 2, and Article 370, which made their own mark amongst the audience irrespective of the box office performance. She was last seen in the crime comedy Dhoom Dhaam, which released on Netflix earlier this year, and co-starred Pratik Gandhi in the lead role.
