The Pakistani descent actress
Sonya Jehan
who made her Bollywood debut in 2005 with Taj Mahal, where she was seen playing the role of Mumtaz, made her debut in Pakistani Film Industry much later. The 36-year-old actress, who has worked in films like My Name Is Khan and
Khoya Khoya Chand
, made her first appearance in Lollywood earlier this year with Ho Mann Jahaan that went on floor in Pakistan on 1st December 2015. In this film, Sonya played the role of a strong independent woman who runs a restaurant in Karachi. The movie also starred
Mahira Khan
,
Adil Hussain
and
Sheheryar Munawar
in significant roles, besides cameos by Fawad Khan and
Syra Yousuf
. The story apparently tugged at the hearts of both youngsters and the older generation. It focused on many aspects of the lives of today's youth, such as friendship, love and passion for pursuing their inner talent and the contradictory views of the society about freedom of the new generation. Though the film made close to 1.5 crores on its first day, it failed to impress the critics.
Sonya, who is married to Vivek Narain since 2012, does not have any film in line as of now and is happy being a housewife and a mother to her two kids. As per her interview to a Pakistan Daily a few months ago, she was looking to move out of Delhi to Dubai, where she can be closer to her family.
