in lead roles. ‘Maidaan’ is the tale of the heroics of Indian football and how Syed Abdul Rahim almost made the Indian football team an Asian powerhouse before his untimely death in 1963.
Announced in 2019, the film was initially set to release by November 2020. However, the COVID-19 pandemic, followed by multiple unforeseen delays, forced this film to be delayed indefinitely. Despite the production being wrapped up by 2022, the film was further delayed till early 2024.
However, despite the odds against them, neither Ajay Devgn nor Boney Kapoor were ready to give up. Their efforts finally paid off when ‘Maidaan’ was cleared for release by February end, and the film will now hit the silver screens on the occasion of Eid, making it clash with the
