Top 10 Worst Bollywood Movies That Became Huge Hits Hindi Article

You would expect a good movie to be successful at the box office and a bad one to be not. But often, the opposite takes place, and many great films can’t even recover their costs. Many Bollywood films have been successful over the years which can be categorized as plainly bad. But still, some bad movies become hits because of their star power. Today we take a look at some of the worst Bollywood movies that didn’t deserve to become hits.

1. Ek Tha Tiger Click to look into! >> Read More... (2012)

Ek Tha Tiger is one of the worst spy movies ever and it also received mixed reviews at the time. But the devoted fans of Salman Khan Salman Khan is a very famous Indian actor and a pr >> Read More... would watch him in any kind of movie, however bad it is.

This movie too performed well at the box office owing to Salman’s star power and earned 334 cr worldwide which is a huge amount for a bad film.

2. Son Of Sardaar Click to look into! >> Read More... (2012)

One of the worst Bollywood films ever, Son of Sardaar released in 2012 had a terrible storyline, embarrassing songs, over-the-top acting, and hilariously bad dance sequences. Safe to say, it was a pretty bad film.

Still, it managed to earn a 135 cr at the worldwide box office despite receiving bad reviews from the audience and critics for its absurd storyline.

3. Happy New Year Click to look into! >> Read More... (2014)

The movie still earned a whopping 345 cr at the worldwide box office owing to the star power of the leads. It even set the record for the biggest opening in Bollywood and held it for four years, earning over 42 cr on the first day.

4. Judwaa 2 (2017)

Arguably director David Dhawan’s worst film, Judwaa 2 featured his son Varun in a double role. It was a pure cringe fest and torture to watch. It received bad reviews from the audience and critics alike.

But somehow it performed exceptionally well at the box office and earned over 227 cr at the worldwide box office.

5. Housefull 4 Click to look into! >> Read More... (2019)

Housefull 4 was a complete mess with a terrible plot, mindless comedy, really bad jokes, and some of the worst acting performances of the last decade. The critics panned it wholeheartedly and review bombed it, which it deserved.

What it did not deserve was becoming a super hit and grossing over 300 cr worldwide at the box office. Saand Ki Aankh and Made In China Click to look into! >> Read More... , two films released alongside Housefull 4 were both better and they deserved this kind of collection.

6. Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo (2015)

The movie used the same formula as Bollywood movies in the 90s with a melodramatic plot surrounding a dysfunctional royal family, conniving family members, a jealous step-brother, Salman Khan in a double role, all of which is really out of place today.

The performances were terrible and the onscreen pairing of Salman Khan with Sonam Kapoor Sonam Kapoor, Daughter of Anil Kapoor and model Su >> Read More... was very much unpleasant for the eyes. But the movie managed to get a worldwide gross collection of over 350 cr at the box office.

7. Grand Masti Click to look into! >> Read More... (2013)

Grand Masti, the sequel to the movie Masti was a terrible film compared to its predecessor. Sexual innuendos, an over-the-top plot involving extra-marital affairs, and horrible performances rendered this adult comedy completely not worth watching.

This movie made on a budget of 30 cr earned a worldwide gross of 130 cr at the box office. We are shocked to see how this one became a huge hit.

8. Tees Maar Khan Click to look into! >> Read More... (2010)

Based on the 1966 film ‘After the Fox’, this movie starred Akshay Kumar Akshay Kumar was born on 9th September 1967 and hi >> Read More... and Katrina Kaif Katrina Kaif is a prominent and very popular Briti >> Read More... . But it came nowhere close to the original as it had terrible jokes, over-the-top performances and the story execution was terrible.

The movie which was made on a budget of 45 cr touched the 100 cr mark at the worldwide box office, becoming a huge hit.

9. Ready Click to look into! >> Read More... (2011)

Another Salman Khan film on our list, Ready was a crappy film. The storyline was senseless with bad direction, unfunny jokes and the performances were hilariously bad. The critics gave it unfavorable reviews upon release.

But the audience loved the film apparently, and it earned 180 cr at the worldwide box office.

10. Hate Story 3 (2015)

The Hate Story franchise has given us terrible after terrible films, and this one was no different. With a mind-boggling plot revolving around trading one’s wife for huge business profits, extremely poor performances, and steamy scenes laid throughout, Hate Story is one of the worst films ever.

But somehow it worked, and the movie made on a budget of 20 cr went on to collect over 75 cr worldwide at the box office.
