Many Hindi serials have been dubbed in regional languages and aired on local channels where they gained a lot of popularity and viewership. Let us look at ten such serials and their dubbed versions.

1. Devon Ke Dev Mahadev

Devon Ke Dev Mahadev was a mythological series on Life OK based on the legends about the Hindu God Shiva. The serial made Mohit Raina a national celebrity. It also starred Mouni Roy, Sonarika Bhadoria, and other talented actors. The serial was dubbed in many regional languages like Marathi, Assamese, Telugu, Oriya, Malayalam, Tamil, and Bengali. In each version, it had the titles Devanche Dev Mahadev, Mahadev, Hara Hara Mahadeva, Mahadev, Kailasanathan, Shivam, and Devadidev Mahadev respectively.

2. Balika Vadhu

A path-breaking TV show about child marriage, Balika Vadhu aired on Colors TV and became the number one serial on Indian television in a short time. The serial’s popularity reached the corners of the country, and it was dubbed in several languages to make it more understandable to the regional viewers. Its Telugu version is called Chinnari Pellikuthuru, and its Tamil version’s title is Mann Vasanai. They are aired on MAA TV and Raj TV respectively.

3. Mahabharat

Mahabharat on Star Plus was appreciated for its sleek presentation, great visual effects, and good acting. The mythological series was dubbed in regional Indian languages like Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, Oriya, Telugu, Malayalam, etc. Apart from that, the series was also aired on the Indonesian channel antv, and the actors were also invited to a meeting with their Indonesian fans. This shows the reach of Indian TV industry outside the country.

4. Sasural Simar Ka

Sasural Simar Ka is a long-running Hindi TV serial airing on Colors TV. It is based on the trials of the protagonist Simar and her struggles to protect her loved ones from external forces. The serial also has supernatural elements to make the plot more interesting. It has been dubbed in Malayalam and airs on Surya TV with the name Sithara. It also airs on the Tamil channel Polimer TV with the name Moondru Muduchi.

5. Uttaran

Uttaran on Colors TV was a show about the friendship between a rich girl, Tapasya, and the daughter of her maid-servant, Ichcha. It followed the journey of their lives and their changing equations. The serial was aired on Raj TV in the Tamil language under the title Sindhu Bhairavi. The Malayalam channel Surya TV aired it as Valsalyam. Uttaran was also broadcast in the countries of Armenia and Indonesia.

6. Iss Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Doon

This series on Star Plus found an instant connect with the audience due to its fresh cast and unique love story. Starring Barun Sobti and Sanaya Irani, it set the trend for new-age love stories on Indian television. The popularity of the serial led to its adaptation in Bengali called Bojhena Se Bojhena. It was also adapted into Arabic, Vietnamese, and French. The Tamil version of the show is called Idhu Kadhala, Telugu Chuppulu Kalisina Shubhavela, Malayalam Mounam Sammadham, and Turkish Bir Garip Ask.

7. Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi

Meri Aashiqui Tum Se Hi was a show on Colors TV which focused on the love story between two childhood friends, Ranveer and Ishani. Their struggles to be with each other made an interesting watch. The Ekta Kapoor serial gained a lot of love and favour from the viewers. Its Tamil version is called Urave Uyire, Odiya version is Mo Mana Tori Pain, and Sinhalese version is named Sadahatama Oba Mage.

8. Ek Hasina Thi

This show on Star Plus was a suspense thriller that found great favour with the audience. It starred Sanjeeda Sheikh as well as Vatsal Seth as the lead actors. The serial was highly praised by critics and audiences. It was dubbed into many regional languages like Telugu as Durga, Arabic as Lahheb Al-Huqd, Sinhalese as Sulanga Wage Avidin, and Malayalam as Oru Shishirathinte Ormakku.

9. Punar Vivah

Punar Vivah was a show on Zee TV about the second marriage of two individuals and their chance to fall in love once more and find happiness. It starred Kratika Sengar and Gurmeet Chaudhary in the lead roles and was a popular show on Zee TV. Punar Vivah has been dubbed and aired in several countries like Pakistan, Algeria, UAE, France, Iran, South Africa, and Mauritius. In India, there is a Tamil version that airs on Zee Tamizh with the name Marumanam.

10. Madhubala- Ek Ishq Ek Junoon

Madhubala was a serial on Colors TV which was made to celebrate Indian cinema. Its title was a tribute to the legendary Indian actress Madhubala. Its cast included Vivian Dsena and Drashti Dhami. Madhubala was very famous among the Indian audience and helped to catapult the careers of the lead actors higher into stardom. The serial was aired on the Tamil channel Polimer TV after being dubbed as Madhubala- Konjam Ishtam Konjam Kashtam. Its Telugu version was named Madhubala- O Prema O Paga and aired on Gemini TV. The Malayalam version was aired on Surya TV with the name Madhubala.
