Top 10 Bollywood Movies On Terrorism Hindi Article

1. Haider

This 2015 adaptation of Shakespeare’s Hamlet, is essentially a movie on cross-border terrorism in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. An undergraduate boy, Haider returns home to mourn the loss of his father, only to find his mother cozying up to his uncle. Enraged by the lack of empathy of both his mother and his uncle, Haider decides to find his father and punish those behind his disappearance. In his search, the boy stumbles upon a terrorist cult who decides to have him in their fold. The movie depicts the journey of Haider and his innocence into the horrifying worlds of suicide bombers and custodial killings.

2. A Wednesday

A movie so well written and portrayed, we wished it was true. In a bid to free four convicted terrorists, a man holds Mumbai on a ransom. With threats of bombings looming large on their heads, the top brass of Mumbai cop decides to free the felon. The ending of the movie deserves credit for both its impeccable writing as well as a brilliant delivery by veteran actors Naseeruddin Shah, and Anupam Kher.

3. The Attacks Of 26/11

A real life account of the terrorist attack on Mumbai in 2008, this movie is supplanted by the performance of Nana Patekar. Step by step detailed tracing of events and the unfolding of the same on silver screen keeps the pace taut. The movie hits very close to home and is too real to be not taken seriously.

4. Kurbaan

The movie is on home grown terrorism in the USA. A US citizen, disenchanted with promises of righting the wrings done to his community by the federal government, comes to India to create a fake front that helps him earn respect back in the US. Successful at that, he goes back to the US and starts carrying out his terrorist activities to avenge the death of his loved ones.

5. Aamir

An NRI doctor returns to India only to find his family missing. The kidnappers want him to carry out a terrorist activity if he wants to see his family. The movie takes its viewers into the dingy and less travelled lanes of Dharavi (Mumbai) and deals with religious issues. Rajeev Khandelwal essays the role of a helpless doctor trying to save his family all the while keeping his moral compass due north, exceptionally well.

6. Madras Cafe

The true story of the assassination of Rajeev Gandhi, this movie tells the story from the perspective of an Indian RAW agent. The reasons for an outrage against the leader, the international issues involved in a failed intelligence reporting and the events that followed the assassination; all combine to give this movie the story we have wanted for so long.

7. D Day

The movie is arguably the most unnoticed yet impactful movie about cross-border terrorism. The movie is an assassination attempt of Dawood Ibrahim. The planning and the failure of the plan and what happens when Pakistan goes rogue, all make the storyline of this movie.

8. Phantom

The movie was banned in Pakistan because it drew from real life speeches of 26/11 accuse Hafiz Saeed, in Pakistan. The movie follows the life of a RAW agent in the aftermath of the Mumbai attacks in 2008. He embarks on a secret mission to kill this terrorist in his home country with little help from India. The movie boasts of being “a story you wish were true”.

9. Baby

Akshay Kumar is at his nationalist best in the movie. He plays a secret services agent who is recruited into a new branch of secret services and has a mission to obtain information about a terrorist. He gains the information and decides to assemble a team to assassinate him. He is surprised when during the assassination attempt of a terrorist, he finds another one; should he kill him or should he take him to India with him. The movie is a nail biting edge of your seat crime drama.

10. New York

The movie is about three friends who learn the price of freedom the hard way in New York. After the 9/11 tragedy, one of the three friends is suspected to be a terrorist and jailed indefinitely. He comes out of jail, as a different person and finds himself unable to deal with everyday life challenges. His friend soon finds out he is involved in a cult and is planning a terrorist attack in New York.
